2016: The year of the Fly & Fit.

With blogging and social media being the millennial way of communicating, we often times don’t get to interact with people on a personal level. We don’t know the person behind the layers of designer threads and red soles. We throw around the word “Fly” to describe people that embody that undeniable head-turning style. But what else do we know about them? Your fly but what’s your spirit like?

When naming my boutique, I thought about my ideal muse. A dope gal trying to make her mark while staying in touch with herself. She understands sexy is a feeling and self-worth is key. Her fashion choices are always classy yet exude the right amount of sex appeal. She tips her hat to fellow trendsetters, business owners, movers and shakers because envy is not her style. Her artistic yet edgy, nonchalant yet chic, contemporary yet trap, personality is often misunderstood so she is an acquired taste. All though she’s not for everyone she gives positive energy to all by not only being physically fly but also spiritually fit. And that is Fly Behavior.

To help keep all my fly behaving guys and gals on the right track while heading into the New Year, I’m inviting everyone to start a 60 day FLY & FIT challenge with me! The purpose of this challenge will be to detox our body, gain mental clarity and body image satisfaction.

A Solo TWA Chop

Just so everyone is clear, I’ve never been into the whole #TeamNatural thing…  But lately more often than not, I find myself swiping through natural hair Instagram pages and gawking at these heads full of life.  I cant help but admire and think to myself, ” I could never do that” all while my relaxed straight hair is breaking off and shedding like a Mohair sweater .

Weekend Beauty Grab: Sonia Kashuk Illuminating Bronzer

Sonia Kashuk Illuminating Bronzer

Those that know me, can attest to my love for a good ole bronzer. The way it captures the light, and accents your features makes it very necessary, even if its the only thing you wear (Of course in addition to some slayed brows and mascara). Previously I’ve been frustrated with the beauty counter brands being either to dull and not enough or too glittery and metallic.

Mixed Metals

FlyBehavior Tip: Mix Those Metals

This photo, captured  by Phil Oh, is the definition of  “Fly Behavior”.   I have a never dying love for stacks of mixed metal. It not only adds a sense of texture, its fun and unexpected. The houndstooth Ferragamo clutch, the tonal mix of metals and Chanel charm bracelet all served up a seriously girly yet grungy look.
The pop of blue nail polish didn’t hurt either.
Mixed Metals
Don’t make a fuss out of mixing your metals, your selection should be purely organic but  still make sense.  My secret to a fault free set is to start with a statment piece like one of the cuffs above and build upon that. Mix metals, fabrics, textures and colors. Like the daring chica above, be sure to stack your arm candy largest to smallest so your dainty pieces don’t get lost in the crowd. Have fun with it and remember to always define your own Fly Behavior. Cick here for the deeds on our selected picks.

Until next time,
