Macy’s Celebrates Ebony Fashion Fair Founder

In honor of Black History Month Macy’s and EBONY presents a salute to fashion icon Eunice W. Johnson and her legendary EBONY FASHION FAIR®, the world’s largest traveling fashion show.

 Eunice W. Johnson was a business women who even in the 50’s appreciated the delicate but strong designs of  some of our most adorned designers today. EBONY FASHION FAIR was the gateway for many models and designers such as, Christian Lacroix and Valentino. Having toured 180 cities across the United States, Canada and the Caribbean and raised over $55 million for scholarships EBONY FASHION FAIR celebrated its 60TH anniversary this year. I was blessed with the opportunity to visit  Macy’s here in Chicago where they held a special  exhibit showcasing Eunice W. Johnson’s private archive and decades of designer looks.   1. Absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!!!!! I would love to had seen this in person! STUNNING!!! As a child my dad took my to the Ebony Fashion Fair Fashion Show every year!
